‘For My Girfriend’, a scheme supported by the Thames Valley Safer Roads Partnership and widely used by member authorities, has been recognised with a premier award within the road safety industry.
The scheme which is built on a robust research basis targets young males in particular with messages that are known to appeal specifically to their own concerns about injuring someone close to them. Created initially with local authorities in the Eastern Region, the Thames Valley Safer Roads Partnership has adopted the campaign and played an important role in helping it to develop. The campaign has now been recognised with a Prince Michael International Road Safety Award.
