In the year that the Thames Valley Safer Roads Partnership have started to deliver the highly impactive Safe Drive Stay Alive Scheme (SDSA), the campaign as a whole receives international recognition. SDSA is an innovative theatre education project, exploring the circumstances and consequences of a road traffic collision. Aimed at 16 to 18 year olds the Thames Valley programme starts with a film of a crash in the local area that has been specially prepared, with roads and hospitals familiar to local students.
Interspersed with live testimonials the students attending come face-to-face with the grave consequences of poor decisions made as a driver or passenger. The Thames Valley Safer Roads Partnership is delighted that the scheme it has decided to take up and offer to thousands of students in the area has been recognised with a prestigious Prince Michael International Road Safety Award.
